Building Wall
Building walls have one main purpose: to support roofs and ceilings. Such walls most often have three or more separate components. In today’s construction, a building’s wall will usually have the structural elements, insulation, and finish elements, or surface. In addition, the wall may house various types of electrical wiring or plumbing. Electrical outlets are usually mounted in walls. But, since this house is not just a normal house but an aerodynamic one, I would make the walls out of stone so it will be solid enough to withstand any storm or hurricane formation.
Windows
Glass is a material which is certainly not very appropriate or adequate for an aerodynamic house, and therefore, glass windows are an absolute no-go. They would burst immediately, and then the house would not be solid and strong anymore. Therefore, the windows must be made out of seethrough plastic.

Hurricanes are one of many causes of global warming. Everyone knows global warming is happening, some just do not want to realize it. This is an issue that affects everyone, and therefore, this is definitely more important at the moment than the financial crisis, industrial advantages, and new technology. Since would there be these minor issues if our world would already be destroyed and about to kill us? Global warming is a major issue which we, the inhabitants of this world, are facing right now. We were the ones that caused global warming anyways; us and all our new inventions polluting the air. The documentary film An Inconvenient Truth proves that we must act now, otherwise there will be a tipping point where global warming cannot be prevented anymore. However, let’s assume the worst; let’s say that the inhabitants of our world will continue destroying and polluting the world, what would we do then? We would have to deal with all the many troubles which would occur, and one of them will be the increased rate of hurricanes.
Hurricanes are caused by the energy of the temperature of the water. Since the water temperature will increase due to global warming, the hurricane rate will too. Hurricanes are tropical cyclones which are created by a large low pressure center and numerous thunderstorms that produce strong winds and flooding rain. While tropical cyclones can make extremely powerful winds and torrential rain, they are also able to produce high waves and damage storm surge as well as spawning tornadoes. The picture at the right hand side shows the hurricane rate from 1945-2006. The east coast of Asia, especially Japan, has a very high and frightening hurricane rate. Also Central America is confronted with great danger.
Aerodynamics is the study of forces and the resulting motion of objects through the air. In 1505, Leonardo da Vinci wrote the The Codex on the Flight of Birds, one of the earliest treatises on aerodynamics. He notes for the first time that the center of gravity of a flying bird does not correspond with its center of pressure. It is a branch of fluid mechanics that deals with the motion of air and other gaseous fluids.
Historical Happenings Involving Aerodynamics

Between 1799 and 1809 the English baronet Sir George Cayley created the concept of the modern airplane. Cayley abandoned the ornithopter tradition, in which both lift and thrust are provided by the wings, and designed airplanes with stiff wings to provide lift, and with separate propelling devices to provide force and power. Through his published works, Cayley laid the foundations of aerodynamics.

Aerodynamic efficiency is the goal of all race car designers. It is the most important element in developing a competitive race car. Aerodynamic efficiency is the most vital factor in the development of competitive racecars. The real importance of aerodynamics, however, became more and more important ever since the 1960s. The inverted wings appeared in some of the formulas and this step was a great leap forward in the use of aerodynamics in the development of racecars.

The Model
To make a house model which will be protected from hurricanes, the roof would have to go from the ground diagonal until both roofs meet and touch. Under this roof, which will have the shape of a tent, there will be the actual living space. Since hurricanes always come from the ocean or the water, the model only needs to be protected from the seaside. This model would have to be aerodynamic to be able to protect itself from storms or even hurricanes. Roof shape and existence of outlets, for example, influences the achievement of a better “aerodynamic” house. The roof at the ocean side will be bent diagonally. This model must have the same features as the one of an air plane, except that it must not fly. The house must always be bent away from the ocean, so wherever the ocean is, that is where the house and its roof needs to be curved.

Hi,
this blog will be about my (yet unknown) science project which we have to do for the end of grade 8. We have been investigating about climate change and have even had a Energy Audit Week which was extra dedicated to this issue. My project will certainly be about a specific topic on climate change, which I will be informing you later about.
